Dear Faith,
Are you interested in making it easier to walk, bike and get around without a car? The Charlottesville / Albemarle Active Mobility Summit invites you to join other residents, businesses, and organizations for a full day of discussion, celebration and collaboration.
This free workshop pulls together groups with various skills and resources to tackle complex tasks, including new programs, events and infrastructure projects, that no individual or group can accomplish alone. Complex challenges become much more manageable when groups work together. That is the Piedmont Mobility Alliance’s approach, and so far it has been successful.
Our fourth annual gathering will be in a beautiful setting next to the Rivanna River, near multiple trails and interesting public access projects. It will include panels, walks, facilitated coalition building, and lots of networking and fellowship throughout, with food, drink and a celebratory happy hour.

We need your ideas!
Our collective success rests on what you bring to the table: ideas, resources, energy and curiosity. The purpose of the summit is to foster community collaboration and to celebrate on-the-ground success. The event will be entirely interactive, and we invite you to help build the program!
Here’s what we need:
- Share connectivity-related successes you’ve witnessed or been a part of
- Suggest speakers for our panel of non-traditional activists
- Nominate someone who deserves recognition for bringing people together
- Propose topics that collaborative workgroups can tackle in 2024
- Volunteers to help with the summit itself
Use this form to contribute ideas.
The summit has been a catalyst for a lot of important work; past examples include mobile bike repair clinics, strategic neighborhood connections, a state-wide greenway, and a month-long celebration of cycling in the community. This year’s iteration will be a big step forward and promises to be more fun than ever.
