Loop de Ville + Mini-Summit

The annual Loop de Ville Trail Fest is a celebration of walking, biking and running in Charlottesville and Albemarle. This year, the two-day event takes place on September 23-24 and will include a Sunday Mobility Alliance “Mini-Summit” where you will be able to quickly learn about many local efforts to improve connectivity and everyday access to nature.

Piedmont Mobility Alliance Fall Meeting & Work Session

The Piedmont Mobility Alliance gathers every two months to work collaboratively. This work session will cover coordinating a fall advocacy campaign for increased funding of sidewalks, bike lanes, and trails, beginning plans for Bike Month 2024, and discussing the Alliance's future structure.

Community Conservation Walk in Marshall

Come join neighbors on a fun and educational walk showcasing a suite of conservation practices underway on a Piedmont landscape. This is a free knowledge-sharing event led by Smithsonian's Virginia Working Landscapes and the Piedmont Environmental Council.

Cedar Mountain 5k and 10k Rally

Cedar Mountain Battlefield Foundation is hosting its first 5k and 10k on October 1 at the Cedar Mountain Battlefield to increase awareness of the 162-acre historic area, raise money for its preservation and the maintenance of trails, and contribute to the well-being of the community. The race is being administered by Bishop Events with an entry fee of $35.

Native Plant Sale & Community Day at Clermont

Come to Clermont Farm for an opportunity to buy native plants at the best time of year for planting, as well as natural products from area vendors, and tours/education walks. The event is rain or shine, $5 per car.

Riparian Buffer Workshop for Landowners: Basics and Funding Opportunities

Join the Lord Fairfax Soil and Water Conservation District, the VA Department of Forestry, and the Piedmont Environmental Council for a workshop on riparian forest buffers. Learn about the importance of these buffers as a tool to improve water quality in our local watersheds and explore sources of funding for implementing buffers on your property.
