Join friends and partners of the Blue Ridge Conservation Alliance on June 20 at Sweet Run State Park! We will learn about Virginia’s newest state park from Park Manager Keven Bowman and share partner news from around the Ridge.
Annual Purple Martin Field Day
Join the Virginia Grassland Bird Initiative at a bird-focused field day hosted by the Purple Martin Conservation Association. This field day will be held at the farm of Mrs. Merle Wood and her son, Mr. Lance Wood in Louisa County. Come learn about purple martins, a native songbird that relies almost exclusively on human-supplied housing, and how to attract and manage a colony of your own. The Wood farm hosts a large colony of more than 70 pairs of martins!
