Annual Purple Martin Field Day

Join the Virginia Grassland Bird Initiative at a bird-focused field day hosted by the Purple Martin Conservation Association. This field day will be held at the farm of Mrs. Merle Wood and her son, Mr. Lance Wood in Louisa County. Come learn about purple martins, a native songbird that relies almost exclusively on human-supplied housing, and how to attract and manage a colony of your own. The Wood farm hosts a large colony of more than 70 pairs of martins!
