June 25, 2022 @ 9:00 am 12:30 pm

Join Fauquier County Parks & Recreation along with our partners The Clifton Institute, The Piedmont Environmental Council, and The Warrenton Garden Club on a Native Garden Tour in June. Tour begins at 9:00 a.m. at the WARF.

For more information and registration: https://cliftoninstitute.org/event/native-garden-tour/

9:00 AM – Location: WARF
Small garden discussion and the opportunity of spreading the word in a very public yet manicured place

9:30-9:45 AM – Location: Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC) headquarters office at 45 Horner Street, Warrenton, Virginia 20186
Tour the PEC garden and discuss how the front of the house fits with the neighborhood. While it’s wilder in the back – how long does it take to manage such a big garden? Look for bees!

11:00-11:15 AM – Location: The Clifton Institute at 6712 Blantyre Rd, Warrenton, VA 20187
Tour Clifton’s native plant garden around the house and discuss the tradeoff between using county natives vs. native to North America. Take a visit to the side bed (all plants from seeds collected locally) and look for bees!

12:00 PM
A short walk will be led on the driveway to Pondside Meadow (seedlings from local seeds planted in a wilder setting). This will show an example of a small pollinator meadow that anyone with 1/4 acre can plant.

12:30 PM
Closing of Native Garden Tour
