Bike + Pedestrian Advocacy Social

Join us for a social gathering to learn more about how you can get involved with bike/pedestrian advocacy in Albemarle and Charlottesville!

The Piedmont Mobility Alliance is working together to advocate for better infrastructure for walking, biking, transit and other healthy forms of transportation and mobility. This gathering will refine the Alliance’s Advocacy Agenda. Advocacy can take many forms: phone calls, showing up to public meetings, yard signs, op-eds and much more. The Advocacy Agenda will focus leaders’ and public officials’ attention on specific, feasible requests. Examples might include:

  • Increasing the sidewalk budget
  • Hiring maintenance staff
  • Connecting Biscuit Run Park to its surrounding neighborhoods

Attendees will help refine the message and learn ways to actively participate in bringing positive change. Wegmans will provide snacks and nonalcoholic beverages. The event will be hosted on the porch at Wegmans. Address: 100 Wegmans Wy, Side Entrance, Charlottesville, VA 22902.
