Now through Nov 15, the Virginia Grassland Bird Initiative (VGBI) is accepting applications from producers in 16 counties across the northern Virginia Piedmont, Blue Ridge, and Shenandoah Valley, who are interested in financial incentives for protecting nesting grassland birds during the 2025 haying season.

Linnea serves as PEC’s Plantings for the Piedmont Coordinator and is responsible for administering PEC’s riparian and upland tree planting program and supports land management efforts at the Piedmont Memorial Overlook.

Samantha Eley
Samantha Eley joined The Piedmont Environmental Council team in July 2024 and serves as the Data Center Reform Campaign Coordinator. Based in our Warrenton headquarters, Samantha covers outreach and supports coordination of our statewide data center advocacy campaign across.
Michaela Weglinski
Michaela Weglinski joined The Piedmont Environmental Council as the Stewardship Assistant in June 2024. Her work involves fulfilling the annual monitoring and stewardship responsibilities for PEC’s 90+ easement and fee simple properties across our nine-county service area.
