One development issue that is ongoing is review of the new high school site plan to resolve stormwater management questions and potential building instability due to underlying geology. In an issue that has not yet been taken up for consideration by the County, the Luck Stone Corporation has contracted to purchase land in Clarke for a new quarry. Currently the company is conducting an in-depth analysis of the property to determine its suitability. Upon completion, if the property is deemed suitable, then we expect to see a proposal made to the County for one or more of the following: Comprehensive Plan amendment, Zoning Ordinance text amendment, Special Use permit.
