Robert Lazaro has served as Director of Communications for PEC since April 2005. A seasoned communications professional, Mr. Lazaro most recently served as the principal aide to the Chairman of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, Scott York. Prior experience includes serving as Press Secretary and Director of Communications for the Republican delegation of the Nassau County Legislature, Special Assistant to the Nassau County Executive, and Executive Director for Government and Public Affairs for the busiest commuter railroad in the United States, the Long Island Rail Road.

Active in his home community of Purcellville, Mr. Lazaro has served as a member of the Town's Economic Development Advisory Committee and the Town's Planning Commission. Mr. Lazaro was elected to the Purcellville Town Council in 2004 and elected to a two-year term of office as Mayor in May 2006. He was recently re-elected with 62% of the vote.
