Rappahannock Friends and Lovers of Our Watershed (RappFLOW), a local, grassroots watershed group, has been very busy with its pilot study on the Upper Thornton River. PEC staff has partnered with RappFLOW participate in field work and landowner outreach. The long-term goals for the project are to preserve, protect and restore the water quality in the Rappahannock River Watershed through the creation of a community-based watershed assessment.

RappFLOW recently completed its rapid analysis of each small watershed included in the Upper Thornton area and is now preparing for a more in-depth assessment of small watersheds that appear to be the most environmentally sensitive. Over the next several months, Rappflow will be launching it.
