Land Conservation
Rappahannock is a leader in private land conservation with over 25,000 acres protected forever, about 15% of total land in the county.
This map shows the over 26,200 acres of privately protected land in Rappahannock County as well as publicly protected lands.
1,115 acres were conserved in 2007, bringing the grand total to over 26,000 acres of privately conserved land.
Historic Meadow Grove Farm Protected.
RappFLOW a local, grassroots watershed group, has been very busy with its pilot study on the Upper Thornton River.
The PEC is working with other environmental organizations to ensure a more unified effort to protect the natural beauty of Rappahannock County.
