PEC is working with Fauquier County on the Rappahannock Station Battlefield Park in Remington, to finalize the land transfer from the developer to the County, to place appropriate easements on the property, and to plan the park layout. This property, which is Fauquier County's only major battlefield, was threatened with imminent development. As a result of a grassroots effort supported by PEC, the local government, as well as state and federal grants, the threatened battlefield will become a public park. The historic property will provide much needed access to the Rappahannock on the border of Fauquier and Culpeper.
