Fresh, local produce is now available to northern Albemarle residents with the arrival of the new Forest Lakes Farmers Market.

Open each Tuesday from 4-7PM, the market is a collaborative effort between the Forest Lakes Community Association and Piedmont Environmental Council's Buy Fresh Buy Local campaign.This "producer only market" gathers over 25 vendors each week to provide an array of fresh, local produce; grass-fed, pastured and free-range meat, poultry and eggs; a wide variety of cheeses; fresh-cut flowers, seedlings, specialty and gourmet foods and more.

Ideas for fun family projects and experiences abound at this market, including patio and backyard gardening, herbal sun tea brewing, ostrich and buffalo tastings and even Monarch butterfly raising and releasing! Come and taste real food, support local farms and strengthen the local economy while improving the health of your family and connecting with your community.
